Hi! I’m Pam, And I Have a Dream To See The World
From as early as I can remember, I have had a curiosity about the world around me. As soon as I could read, I would devour books on faraway places that I brought home from the library. I devoured my parent’s National Geographic magazines as soon as they hit our mailbox. I loved seeing all the wildlife, plants, and different cultures, and I dreamed of being able to see it all in person someday.
Well, life happened. I got married, and we spent our honeymoon driving across the states and back for a month, making short stops for a day or so in places we wanted to see. We stopped in places that caught our interest with the plan to return someday and explore them more slowly. Then came kids, jobs, and finances, we just never managed to make it happen. I’ve since managed a few adventures to amazing places, but I always felt that spark for something more. Now I’m single, nearly 65, looking at retirement, and trying to figure out how to make it happen.
I have roughly 12 months before my planned escape from the grind of trying to hustle to pay the mortgage, and I’m on a mission to gather as much information as I can about how to travel on a budget because this gal doesn’t have an IRA or 401k to fall back on. I’m a voracious reader and I love to research anything I’m getting involved in, and I love sharing information with like-minded people.
This compilation is my way of bringing you along as I prepare for and eventually step into a life of slow, simple, nomadic travel.
