I plan for the content to be for any style of travel, but focused on people who are going slower, rather than the tourist route. And I'd love for you to join me at any time you want!

Great start! The dance world won’t be the same without you! And where will I get my vegetables from? We never did buy those bras!!!

I'm actually planning on trying to find small groups like mine who can't afford to bring a visiting instructor in... My plan is to tell them I will do the classes for free if they can get me a couple privates lessons. When I started teaching, I was just trying to figure it all out... And I would have loved to have somebody come in and help the students more than I could at that time. Hopefully I can get some groups to take me up on it. I just figure it's one way I can give back.

Hey Pamela! Good post, I love the slow travel with frugality style of travel too. I'm excited to read more!

We’re taking off in June on our own slow travel adventures. We’ve been studying up and watching videos for awhile. It’s getting real now. Ha. Best of luck on your journey!😎🫡

Pamela — this is such a generous, grounded piece!

What struck me most wasn’t the word nomad itself, but how clearly you traced purpose back to usefulness, presence, and connection — not escape. That Asheville story says everything. You didn’t discover freedom by leaving people behind; you found it by moving closer to where you feel most alive with them.

I also love how you dismantle the myth that this life belongs only to the wealthy, the unencumbered, or the fearless. Curiosity, service, and patience are far better currencies — and you have those in spades.

Eighteen months is a beautiful runway. Not rushed. Not panicked. Just enough time to listen, learn, and let the next chapter assemble itself one honest step at a time. I’ll be cheering you on as you prepare — and I suspect a lot of readers will see themselves reflected here too.

Thank you for sharing this so openly, and for extending such a clear invitation to others standing at the edge. 💛

Awww - thank you! This means a lot coming from someone who is much further along in their travel and writing journeys! I'm glad that I managed to translate what was in my heart into a story that resonated with you and, it seems, many others!

This is very exciting! I love it. I am not ready to do it full time, but part time definitely! I'd love to meet you at a destination and have a visit as well as volunteer! We could share lodging.

Just watched Nomad for the second time last week. I’ve always thought of nomads as being people who lived in deserts since that’s where I met some.
